4th Grade looked at the sculptures of the artist Jean Dubuffet and we made our own paper sculptures inspired by his wonderful work. They are all so different and artistic, very nice job 4th graders.
This is one of my favorite art projects. Students learn about the traditional Aboriginal art work of Australia. We have one more week to finish, so this is just a few of the first wave of finished projects. They look amazing!!! We drew two pictures one with warm colors and one with cool colors. We then folded a piece of paper and cut apart our two pictures and made these wonderful optical illusions that combine the two pictures. Great job 5th grade.
We talked about animals that live in the arctic including polar bears. We talked about what shapes we could use to make our polar bear and used chalk to make our polar bear have fuzzy fur. They turned out amazing, great job 1st grade.
Kindergarteners leaned about the sculptures and the artist Louise Nevelson. Louise Nevelson collected trash and created sculptures. We used scraps of cardboard to make our amazing sculptures. Students then painted their sculptures. Great job kindergarteners! To follow up our iPad radial design lesson we made cut paper snowflakes. We noticed how when we unfolded the snowflakes they created a unique radial design. Wonderful job second graders!
Kindergartens practiced using different types of lines to give our holiday turkeys some visual texture. We then used water color to paint them.
1st graders looked a the edges of different types of leaves. We noticed that some of the edges were like smooth, wavy, and zigzag lines.
