2nd Grade learned about positive and negative space this week. We also learned about complementary colors and choose our favorite two for the art project. We used cut paper for this project. I love how graphic and bold they are. 2nd grade also did an amazing job with their cutting and gluing and created very polished looking art work!
We learned about what makes and landscape in art. And we used our texture rubbing sheets to give our landscapes some color. I would love to take a walk in these mountains and hills!
We used foam to make 4 prints each in art class last week. Next we glued two prints back to back. They look great and will be beautiful on the trees downtown! We are putting them up next week and I will be sure to share pictures! We looked at Pacific North West Coast Native American Art and made ornaments for the trees downtown in on Pioneer street. Kindergartens learned about warm colors and used oil pastels to make suns. We used different types of lines and shapes to make each sun unique.
We looked at the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. Then we learned how to use water color paints and made unique and wonderful dot paintings. Here are just a few!
1st Grade was inspired by the book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. They used shapes to draw the bodies and used types of line to create texture on our wild things. 1st grade’s wild things have all joined the wild rumpus!
We learned about the abstract artist Kandinsky. We looked at how he experimented with line, shape and color and then made our own water color paintings.
We used our basic shapes circles and Triangles to draw these wild tiger. We also looked a pictures by the artist Rousseau who painted pictures of jungles.
